This Mother’s Day Carnival Cruise Lines celebrated Moms and big news in true All for Fun and Fun For All Carnival style. Filet mignon at a beautiful brunch and a water slide race with a couple of NFL players makes for a pretty memorable Mother’s Day. That’s exactly what happened today at Carnival Moms Dash Splash.
We had a gorgeous brunch in the Breeze’s bright and airy Sapphire Dining Room with beautiful place settings and menu items ranging from the gourmet like the Filet Mignon Steak & Eggs or Salmon to the whimsical and kid friendly Fruit Loops crusted French Toast. My daughter was happy to once again have their Roasted Tomato Bisque which she had literally every day on our cruise aboard the Carnival Magic two years ago.
We finished the amazing Mother’s Day meal with ice cream and the best sweet and salty cheesecake I’ve ever had. If you’ve never cruised Carnival, this is the type of world class meal that they serve every day in their dining options. Sign me up, right?
After the meal Carnival Vice President Stephanie Evans and representative’s from the Houston Texans announced that two winning teams have come together. Carnival is now the official cruise line of the Houston Texans. What does this mean? After speaking with someone from Carnival’s PR team: Look for more events like the Moms Dash Splash or fun giveaways of Carnival merchandise at Texans’ games and for Carnival to be present at the games.
Another big announcement is Galveston is now home to the Carnival Breeze. The majestic ship will be calling Galveston home and beginning in May taking passengers to destinations like Cozumel (one of the stops on our cruise on the Magic and we did a great family friendly excursion to a museum) and Belize and Roatan (both amazing destinations from our honeymoon). It’s a pretty big deal for a new ship to come to port and the Mayor of Galveston presented the Captain of the Breeze with the key to the city. The Breeze was actually about to set sail right after the Moms Dash Splash event to the same destinations we visited on the Magic and it was really hard to convince the family to get off the boat. Really.
The grand finale of the event was the Moms Dash Splash. We all went up to the 12th Deck to the Breeze’s awesome Water Works. Carnival’s ships have slides and splash pads to rival any water park and today the Texans’ D’Andre Hopkins and Brian Cushing put them to the test with a group of local moms.
The moms were nominated by friends and loved ones to race down the slides with the players and may the best total time win. In the end it was Brian Cushing’s Team Red moms that won $10,000 for the Brian Cushing Foundation benefiting veterans and their families. There were no losers however, D’Andre Hopkins also received $5,000 for the Houston Food Bank and the moms received Texans tickets and Carnival is also giving away cruises.
As you’re watching the Texans this year be on the lookout for Carnival, the Official Cruise Line of the Houston Texans. When you’re planning your upcoming family vacations be sure and consider Carnival. Our family had an incredible experience aboard the Magic (We can’t wait to go again!) and the other ships like the Breeze are no less impressive. They sail out of so many ports. We are partial to Galveston but there’s bound to be one near you and trust me fun will be had by all.
