It’s been a crazy two months here at the Sparkles house with a 7 week long kitchen remodel, out of town for Bloggy Boot Camp and then coming home to both kids having the flu so needless to say I did not do an elaborate fall or Thanksgiving porch display. However, I am hosting Thanksgiving (call me even crazier) and so I wanted to dress up the porch at least a little. I took the less is more approach (which is about all I had time for since we’re down to the wire) and made one lone Thanksgiving craft with this Mod Podge and Monogram Pumpkin and filled in with hay and craft pumpkins of various sizes.
I started with a simple craft pumpkin and spray painted it ivory and let dry.
Then I took four pretty patterns of Thanksgiving scrapbook paper and used a leaf paper punch and punched out about 15 leaves.
These are super easy to use and come in various shapes and are great if you don’t have a Cricut or Silhouette (or don’t want to take it out of the closet for a simple project. Me!) My little guy enjoyed helping me punch out some of the leaves.
Next I used Outdoor Mod Podge by Plaid to add coats to the leaves and adhere them to the pumpkin. I used the same technique I used for the Halloween Door Hanger that I made that got pinned almost for hundred times. What!
Finally I added a simple bow with Fall patterned wire trim ribbon and set it out on the front porch! I really like the way it turned out with the ivory background against the different paper patterns. Now if the Thanksgiving meal would be as easy!
