Patriotic M&M Popcorn Balls Recipe

Easy popcorn balls recipe incorporating red and blue M&Ms and sprinkles for a delicious patriotic treat perfect for Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day celebrations.

Serves: 10 popcorn balls
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 bag large JET-PUFFED Marshmallows
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 bags microwave kettle corn popped popcorn
  • ½ cup red & blue M&Ms
  • red & blue cupcake sprinkles
  • patriotic cupcake toppers
  1. Melt butter in a large sauce pan.
  2. When butter is melted, stir in marshmallows, adding handfuls at a time, stirring until melted and repeating for entire bag.
  3. Add vanilla and salt stirring constantly until entire bag of marshmallows is melted.
  4. Place popcorn in a large mixing or serving bowl.
  5. Add marshmallow mixture and stir gently to coat popcorn.
  6. When popcorn is completely coated with the marshmallow mixture, start adding the M&M's small amounts at a time.
  7. Stir gently because the popcorn is warm and will melt the M&Ms.
  8. Let the mixture cool slightly and then with buttered hands form the popcorn into balls.
  9. Press firmly to achieve shape but don't crush the ball.
  10. Place on wax paper to set.
  11. Add sprinkles while popcorn balls are still warm.
  12. Add patriotic cupcake toppers to ball.
  13. Let cool completely.
